Visiting Researcher/Scholar Program

The Visiting Researcher /Scholar Program at Gallaudet University was established to accommodate a limited number of researchers and scholars who wish to use the facilities of Gallaudet University each academic year. The Center for Global Education works closely with academic departments and faculty members to extend its resources on selective basis in the spirit of institutional collegiality; fostering knowledge and exchange of information.

Ms. Goedele De Clerck is a PhD student from the University of Ghent, Belgium and is a Visiting Research Scholar at Gallaudet University. Her research is on transnational commonalities in Deaf people’s lives.

Dr.Sung-Kyu Choi is an excellent example of the intellect and prestige that the Center for Global Education’s Visiting Researcher/Scholar Program brings to Gallaudet University. Dr. Choi is a Visiting Researcher who has a long list of credentials. In his home country of South Korea, Dr. Choi serves as both a professor and the Vice Dean of the Graduate School of Education at Daegu University. At this institution, he has also served as Director of the School of Special Education, Chair of Elementary Special Education, and is currently the Chair of the Graduate School of Special Education and the Director of the Research Foundation for Deaf Education and Rehabilitation. Dr. Choi's field of interest and research is the concept of bi-lingual/bi-cultural education.
